For more information, please visit about.springernature.com and follow @SpringerNature.</p><p></p><p><b>About The Brand</b></p><p>Macmillan Education provides world-class content in the most relevant, engaging and flexible formats to support students, teachers and institutions in lifelong learning.</p><p>Visit macmillaneducation.com and follow @MacmillanEducation / @MacmillanELT</p><p></p><p><b>About the Role</b> </p><p>Working within the Publishing Content Development team, the Digital Content Editor is part of a digital content team developing high quality digital content for students and teachers learning English internationally and publishing a wide variety of digital components including digital student’s books, workbooks, presentation tools, practice apps and assessment as part of an integrated product offering with print components. </p><p>The Digital Content Editor is responsible for developing and delivering digital components for international ELT courses, ensuring digital content meets each course’s pedagogical requirements. This role also involves close cross-functional co-operation with the wider publishing team and external suppliers to meet course delivery and quality expectations. </p><p></p><p><b>Role Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Develop the digital content of a project, ensuring products are suitable for the market requirements and quality standards are maintained, as well as supporting the publishing team on content and presentation decisions (in consultation with the Senior Digital Content Editor). </p></li><li><p>Work within the assigned cross-functional team, taking an active role in supporting the Senior Digital Content Editor in the scoping of a project, including creating project specification documentation, evaluation of scope, packager proposals and providing costs and ensuring all relevant detail is communicated so that the project can be fully and successfully realised. </p></li><li><p>Support the Senior Digital Content Editor to develop digital demos, including briefing suppliers and quality checking the content to ensure course requirements are met. </p></li><li><p>Ensure consistent application of metadata on the project and develop tagging briefs. </p></li><li><p>Ensure continuity and maintenance of house style and digital style on each project and its components. </p></li><li><p>Brief, monitor and liaise with third party suppliers and freelance contributors / editors, reviewing content at relevant stages to ensure that it meets the brief and quality requirements.</p></li><li><p>Support the implementation of any updates to digital content workflows with associated editorial documentation and guidance. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Experience, Skills & Qualifications:</b></p><p><i>Essential</i></p><ul><li><p>Education-related degree i.e. Teaching English, Language Teaching or similar</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and spoken English: C1-C2 level</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of instructional design and appreciation for what makes good digital activities.</p></li><li><p>Appreciation for a wide range of teaching and learning situations.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of digital publishing processes and how they impact content development, and their time and cost implications.</p></li><li><p>Attention to detail, quality control and an ability to engage with content at the highest level.</p></li><li><p>An ability to work to tight deadlines and to manage multiple tasks.</p></li><li><p>Experience of working with a range of new media and digital publishing projects.</p></li><li><p>Problem solver.</p></li><li><p>Analytical.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><i>Desirable</i></p><ul><li><p>Experience of market-focused ELT publishing.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrable ELT / EFL teaching experience.</p></li><li><p>Formal ELT / TEFL qualification.</p></li><li><p>Pre-school or Primary teaching experience is a plus</p></li><li><p>Experience of using digital publishing systems.</p></li><li><p>Experience of successful team working. </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Springer Nature Skills associated with this Job Profile include: </b></p><p>SN-editorial Skills, SN-Pedagogy, SN-Product Design, SN-Adaptability, SN-Communicaties Effectively, SN-Cultivates Innovation, SN-Customer-Focused, SN-Tech Savvy</p><p></p><p>At Springer Nature, our mission is to be part of progress – and that begins with inclusion: of people, perspectives, and ideas.
