<h1><b><b><b>Job Description Summary</b></b></b></h1>Skilled Network Tools Engineer to support and enhance our global network monitoring, automation, and operational workflows. This role focuses on monitoring platforms, scripting, integrations, and troubleshooting across a diverse enterprise environment. The ideal candidate has strong networking fundamentals, experience with monitoring tools, and the ability to collaborate across IT operations teams.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><b>Job Description</b></h1><p>Roles and Responsibilities</p><p>In this role you will:</p><ul><li>Participate in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.</li><li>Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.</li><li>Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level.</li><li>Participate in the infrastructure architecture governance model.</li><li>Support design and deployment of infrastructure solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, TCO, security, regulatory compliance and application system qualities, for different businesses.</li><li>Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.</li><li>Coach and mentor team members</li></ul><p>Core Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage, maintain, and optimize network monitoring and automation platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, NetBrain, ThousandEyes).</li><li>Develop and enhance integrations using Python, Groovy, or shell scripting (RESTful APIs, automation workflows).</li><li>Ensure monitoring coverage, alerting accuracy, and data quality across tools and device inventory.</li><li>Collaborate with Network Operations, Tools, and Service Management teams to improve processes and workflows.</li><li>Support IT Operations teams in implementing monitoring standards, best practices, and operational documentation.</li><li>Utilize Linux/Unix systems for administration, scripting, and service/process management.</li><li>Work within ITSM processes (ServiceNow or similar) following ITIL guidelines.</li></ul><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree. A minimum 8 years of professional experience.</li><li>Desired Characteristics</li></ul><p>Technical Expertise:</p><ul><li>Skilled level expertise in design of computing or network or storage to meet business application system qualities</li><li>Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals.</li><li>Understands concepts of setting and driving architecture direction.</li><li>Familiar with elements of gathering architecture requirements.</li><li>Understands architecture standards concepts to apply to project work.</li></ul><p>Core Requirements</p><ul><li>Strong general networking knowledge</li><li>Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration (server management, processes, services)</li><li>Strong problem‑solving and network troubleshooting skills</li><li>Understanding of standard network protocols: TCP/IP, SNMP, MIBs, DNS, HTTP</li><li>Experience with Python/Groovy/Shell scripting (RESTful API integrations, automation, Bruno/Postman)</li><li>Hands-on experience with LogicMonitor or similar network monitoring tools</li><li>Experience with NetBrain and ThousandEyes (or equivalent tools)</li><li>Background in Network and IT Operations</li><li>Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms</li><li>Basic ITIL awareness</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills</li></ul><p>Business Acumen:</p><ul><li>Understand key cross-functional concepts that impact the organization; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics.</li><li>Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies (Cisco IOS/XE/NX‑OS, Viptela SD‑WAN, Meraki), firewalls, load balancers</li><li>Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible/AWX</li><li>Experience with Infoblox NetMRI or comparable tools</li></ul><p>Leadership:</p><ul><li>Familiar with concepts of costing hardware and software components.
